The most interesting part of the mind-game films is the choice of plot chronology for me. I find it quite interesting especially that the directors use certain kind of symbolism throughout the film. Whether, it be a color, or a certain object, or a certain word, or the appearance of a certain person. This kind of strategy makes the audience focused, intact and erect for all the time, in my opinion. The reason for I value this aspect of the film is that the audience, as well as the producers should spend some effort for the sake of the film. For me, a movie should not only be watched or the film should not only be equaled with the value of time. In this respect, the producers turn out to be more valuable for me, because, despite the fact that I don’t know anything about the production of a movie, I believe the director and the producers out to have spent more time and effort as well as care for the production of the film as well as organizing the script and plot. For me the organization of the plot reflects the hidden sparks of the intelligence behind the curtain during the production of the film.
I was actually thinking about the progress of the Korean production films all the time as I was reading through the texts. I am a huge fan of them, as a matter of fact. Especially watching the films directed by Kim-ki Duk are a source of huge inspiration and thrill for me. The ability of directing a movie using such few texts of scripts is, in my opinion a huge success. Though I sometimes confuse the characters from one another, because I think they look very much alike! But that’s another issue…
